Minimum Passing Criteria

The minimum passing criteria for Kerala Technological University (KTU) are as follows. Students need to score the following marks in the exam to pass. If the marks are not met, the student may fail.

  1. Minimum Internal Marks:
    • Students are required to secure 50% internal marks. This includes attendance assignments and internal exams, all of which must total 50% marks.
  2. Minimum External Marks:
    • Students are required to score at least 40% marks in university exams. If they score less than this, they may fail.
  3. Overall Passing Marks:
    • A student must obtain 50% or more marks from both internal and external marks, otherwise he/she will fail.
  4. Grade Requirement:
    • At least a grade of P is required in KTU University. Only then is it considered that the student has passed. If the grade is 5.0 or above, the student will be considered passed.
  5. Attendance Requirement:
    • At least 75% attendance is required in KTU University. If the attendance is less than 75%, then the student has to take special permission and only then can he appear for the exam.
  6. Practical/Lab Courses:
    • It is very important to pass the subjects in the practical lab. If students get good marks in all these subjects, they get good percentages.
